Help & delivery info
Do I need compost or topsoil?
This depends on the job you are carrying out. If you are filling a hole you will want topsoil, if you are filling a flower pot or wanting to improve a flower bed you will want compost. If you have a large raised bed or planter you want to fill , you may want a mix of both, which we can supply. It is all sourced locally and our compost is peat free and nutrient rich, so there’s no need for extra fertiliser.

What is the difference between softwood and hardwood?
They come from different trees. Softwood is usually Spruce, Pine, Ash and lights fast, so is good for getting fires going. Hardwood is usually Beech, Oak, sometimes Birch and takes longer to burn and keeps the fire going. Some people like to mix both. It is preference which you buy, if you don’t have the fire on for long then softwood is good, if you have the fire on a lot then you might want to use hardwood as it would be more cost effective. Note; Birch is not to be used for cooking, on fire pits etc, so if that is what you are using it for please check with the office what the hardwood is at that time.
Do I need to be in for my delivery?
